Delivery rates & locations

At thru the looking glass, we offer three methods of delivery, each one tailored to a different type of product. In some instances, delivery is free and therefore the costs outlined below do not apply. You can find out which products include free delivery by checking the detail on the product page. To find out the delivery cost for a product you'd like to purchase, simply add it to your basket and the delivery cost will be displayed above the total.

  1. Small accessories / gifts weighing under 10kg and smaller than A3, are delivered via a City Pack Parcel Courier to your door. This service is only available to Mainland UK. Standard cost for a City Pack delivery within Mainland UK is £6.

  2. Larger accessories and gifts, and some furniture items weighing above 10kg, are delivered by Standard Courier, to your door. This service is available to Mainland UK and carries a standard delivery charge (between £7 and £25) based on the weight and size of the items purchased. We can courier items to remote Scotland and UK offshore islands, including Channel Islands and Isle of Man, plus Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, but there is a surcharge for delivery.   3. For all items that are not suitable to be sent by Courier (most furniture items), thru the looking glass offer a premier two-man Furniture Delivery Service where goods are delivered to a room of your choice. Our Furniture Delivery Service is available within Mainland UK only and costs between £45 and £65 – depending on the weight / size of the furniture item. Unwrapping and assembly of furniture is not included in the Furniture Delivery Service, but is available at an additional cost. Please contact us for a quotation. We can deliver furniture to some areas outside of Mainland UK, but a surcharge will apply. Please contact us for a quote.

Postcodes outside of Mainland UK include (but are not limited to); IV, KW, PA20-PA40, PH19-PH40, PH50, TR, LD and SA30+ as well as, all offshore islands i.e. the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands (including Jersey and Guernsey), the Isles of Scilly, all Scottish Islands / Isles, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.

Delivery lead-times

Estimated delivery lead-times are detailed on each product page of the website. Delivery will be as per these lead-times unless a different date is specified in any email from us. All delivery lead-times are based on delivery to Mainland UK – remote postcodes and postcodes outside of Mainland UK may have longer lead-times. Lead-times for deliveries during August and December may be longer due to summer and Christmas factory closures across Europe. Where an order contains more than one item, only the heaviest or largest item will be charged for and all items will be dispatched in one delivery - the longest lead-time will apply. If multiple deliveries are required, this may be possible, but a surcharge will apply – please contact us for a quotation.

In the case of any products that are ordered in - including made to order items - we (or our Courier / Furniture Delivery Service) will contact you when your order is in stock, to advise when your order will be dispatched, or to arrange a mutually convenient delivery date.

Deliveries are made Monday – Friday usually between 8am and 6pm – excluding Public Holidays. Deliveries at other times are possible by prior arrangement, but will incur a surcharge. Please contact us for a quotation.

Please ensure that someone – aged 18 or over – will be available at the delivery address to check the goods and acknowledge receipt of the goods in a safe and satisfactory condition. The goods cannot be left unless signed for. If nobody is available to receive the goods, you will be given instructions as to how to contact the carrier to organise re-delivery.

    Access to delivery address / destination room

    Please check that the items you have ordered will fit through any passages, stairwells, landings and doorways on the way to the destination room. Please also advise us, when placing your order, of any restricted access outside the delivery address or destination room, i.e narrow lane, small or weak bridge, parking restrictions, living on the top floor with no lift etc. Any concerns or information regarding access – either inside or outside of the delivery address – should be recorded in the 'Delivery Instructions' section during the checkout process.
